Job Description: Commercial Property, Civil Litigation and Family Law

1. Job Title: Solicitor


Responsibilities of the role

  • To undertake and administer all fee earning work relating to conveyancing, with particular reference to Commercial sales and purchases
  • To undertake Litigation and Employment cases
  • To help in maintaining and build the existing client base in accordance with the firm’s strategic objectives


      Main Tasks of the role

  • To perform fee earning work reliably, accurately and promptly in accordance with the firm’s operational standards.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision, including the ability to carry out all relevant searches.
  • To exercise full and responsible control of work progress, billing and to ensure full support of the firm’s accounts receivables policy.
    • Open to the acceptance of the need for collective responsibility and confidentiality.


      General Tasks

  • Drafting letters and legal documents
  • Checking title documents to properties
  • Liaising directly with other parties with inquiries/providing further information
  • Undertaking searches with Local Authority, Land Registry etc.
  • Carry out the relevant groundwork to ensure expected results in Litigation and Employment cases
  • Updating clients on the status of their matter
  • Attending upon clients to sign legal documents
  • Drawing up completion statements
  • Agreeing dates with all parties and exchanging Contracts
  • Making arrangements for the transfer of monies on completion
  • Submitting stamp duty forms and registering documents at Land Registry
  • Complying with Solicitors Accounts Rules and Rules of Professional Conduct of solicitors
  • Exercising high standards of client care at all times

  • Responsible for self-development and comply with relevant training
  • Requirements by the Law Society and in-house training when required.


      To succeed in this role, you will need: 

  • A minimum of 1+ PQE- newly qualified will also be considered
  • Good organisational skills and time management
  • Diligent and self motivated
  • Excellent client care skills
  • Strong team player
  • Highly organised
  • Conveyancing experience

Language: Ability to speak Vietnamese/Chinese would be an added advantage.

2. Job Description: Trainee Solicitor

Job Title: Trainee

      Responsibilities of the role

  • Taking client instructions;
  • To provide support to Fee Earners with their daily caseloads;
  • To liaise with clients about routine enquiries;
  • To deal with routine communications for all relevant parties;
  • Ensure that client files are kept updated with correspondence and documents to assist in the timely completion of cases;
  • Comply with the Firm’s Policies and Procedures whilst adhering to professional standards;
  • To comply with the SRA handbook including accounts rules when dealing with office & clients’ money;
  • To maintain the image and the integrity of the Firm and to deal with clients and contracts in a courteous manner


      Person Specification

      Key skills and personal qualities to include:

  • Ability to work as part of a team but also be able to work on own initiative
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, completing high volume of workload on a daily basis
    • Ability to prioritise effectively and manage assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner
    • To be able to accept constructive criticism
    • Computer literate and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications
    • Attention to detail
    • Enthusiastic and has a strong desire to learn



    Good qualification(s) in law (LLB or GDL, and LPC - LLM is a plus)
